A world awash with debt

Andrew Smithers warns in the Financial Times (March 11, 2014) of the danger of economy-wide debt: "A combination of sharp falls in asset prices and debt levels has caused financial crises. This was the case in the US in 1929, in Japan in 1990 and worldwide in 2008."
